We are delighted to announce the release of Sefaira Concept v1.3.1 featuring our new units functionality. In addition, we are starting down the path of our Concept user interface upgrade, and have brought our popular strategies framework to the top of the application for easier access.

For our US EAP customers, you may find this release very helpful in meeting your annual AIA 2030 reporting requirements. Just load your massings into Sefaira Concept and use it to develop your PEUI (predicted energy use intensity) in kBtu/sf/yr for your projects. This feature - and all others listed below - are available exclusively to customers on our Early Adopter Program.

This release includes the following functional and user interface improvements to enhance your Sefaira experience:

• New Units Framework
• Updated Units Preferences Interface
• Redesigned Concept interface with Strategies
• Bug Fixes

Units Framework

Internally, Sefaira Concept uses SI (International System) units for all calculations. However, unit preferences allow you to change your preferred display units on the fly. Whenever you create a new project, Sefaira Concept uses the default unit system - either "US" or "Metric" depending on where you create the project. You can change the default unit system by clicking the "gear" icon next to your name at the top of your screen.  Clicking the gear brings up the unit preferences dialog shown below:

Once in the unit preferences dialog, you can quickly and easily customize your preferences by selecting the appropriate unit.

Redesigned Concept Interface with Strategies

Based on the popularity of the strategies framework, we've moved the strategies module to the top of the Sefaira Concept screen to make it even easier to access and use in your concepts. We've also tweaked the user experience, to improve the clarity and make it even easier to use. Now, when strategies are being analyzed, you can quickly and easily see the analysis progress.

When you're ready to simulate the combined effect of strategies, such as seeing the combined effect of brise soleil, window, and chiller improvements, you can now more easily drag-and-drop to create a strategy bundle. Just click and drag any strategy and you’ll see the following box appear:

Bugs

As with all releases, we did clear out a few bugs in this release - the status of these is shown below.

• Minor solar angle calculation fix for buildings in the southern hemisphere
